Capturing the moment that shows the essence of movement… I seek to freeze motion in that last fraction of a second, yet unlike traditional photography I seek to engage the space directly as opposed to a window space. This work is about showing the lissome side of something that is normally viewed as dangerous.
The practice of jujitsu and parkour/freerunning has extremely altered the way I perceive the human body: The body as a machine for movement and the body as a physical representation of the mental state. My work attempts to show a representation of mental obstacles in a physical world. Dyslexia, distortion, weight, correction, structure, red marks, freedom, movement, biomechanics, gracefulness, instinct and limitations are the most prominent subjects in my work. |
